ALS, short for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive disease of the nervous system that causes loss of muscle control.
The mean survival time for patients with ALS is just three to five years from diagnosis, and there is no cure for the disease.

Boaderline Personality Disorder
A mental disorder characterised by unstable moods, behaviour and relationships.The cause of borderline personality disorder isn't well understood. Diagnosis is made based on symptoms.Symptoms include emotional instability, feelings of worthlessness, insecurity, impulsivity and impaired social relationships.Treatments include talk therapy or, in some cases, medication. Hospitalisation helps if symptoms are severe.
Cystic Fibrosis
An inherited life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system.Cystic fibrosis affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat and digestive juices. It causes these fluids to become thick and sticky. They then plug up tubes, ducts and passageways.Symptoms vary and can include cough, repeated lung infections, inability to gain weight and fatty stools.Treatments may ease symptoms and reduce complications. Newborn screening helps with early diagnosis.
